Welcome to Shevelle kennel, a small family run kennel in the northern part of Sweden. We breed Miniature American Shepherds today but we have spent most of our lives together with dogs of different herding breeds, Border Collies, Bearded Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs. After breeding Shetland Sheepdogs for almost twenty years the first Miniature American Shepherd made her entry into our family. We got the opportunity to choose female from a very interesting cross at Keecam kennels in Canada and for that we are forever grateful. Hailey crossed the Atlantic in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and entered into our breeding program. She is all we ever wanted, a lovely girl, extremely intelligent with a super conformation and exceptional movements. She is a fast learner and a joy to work with.

Our breeding program is small scale and we strive to breed healthy Miniature American Shepherds of correct type and with good mentality. All our dogs live as family members. The most important thing for us is that our dogs are happy, healthy and loved. They accompany us almost everywhere, they get daily exercise and they get mental stimulation mostly through training agility and obedience/rally obedience. We live in a house with a fenced yard  which makes it possible for the dogs to have lots of freedom and space to run around and play. Our summer house by the sea provides the possibility to go for a swim and play in the water during summer.

The number of litters at Shevelle kennel are limited. We breed mostly when we are planning to keep a dog either at our place or as a co own. Hours and hours on end are spent planning, researching, reading pedigrees and health statistics before breeding. We want to leave as little as possible to coincidence. When having a litter we also want to spend as much time as possible with the puppies socializing and playing. We want to prepare them as much as possible for their new life with their new families. Our goal is to breed healthy Miniature American Shepherds of correct type and with good mentality.
